The Center for Real Estate Innovation (CREI) is a collaboration project among many schools and organizations in the University of Tokyo, which are the Graduate School of Economics, the Graduate School of Engineering, the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, the Graduate School of Information Science and Engineering, the Graduate School of Public Policy Studies, the Spatial Information Science Research Center, and the Future Vision Research Center.

Since the launching in April 2020, at this center, we promote cross-disciplinary academic research centered on real estate, and in collaboration with industry, academia, and government. In other words, we carry out new real estate research that transverses existing academic fields with anticipating structural change and providing solution to multiple of problems, and we conduct research that contributes toward the development of real estate policy.

By developing policies centered on real estate, such as sophistication of real estate due to advances in new technologies such as AI and IoT, renewal of aging stock, promotion of sustainable town development through adequate management of town and a certain place, and improvement of value of towns in depopulating areas. We aim to solve such urgent issues that are necessary to be overcome.
